Qualifications and Experience
The Company

Health Professionals has been supplying registered nurses to both NHS and private hospitals and supplying nurses and carers for homecare for nearly a decade.

We are approved by the Department of Health to conduct International Recruitment campaigns and have travelled to many countries with NHS Hospitals and on their behalf to help them attract high quality staff. Most notably, we have assisted MoorfieldsEyeHospital on two major campaigns and the RoyalBromptonHospital and both have resulted in successful outcomes for the hospitals.

We were also recently commended by the CSCI for our recruitment process. Our latest inspection report can be found on our website.
The Registered Managers

Michele Jogee, Registered Nurse (RN) - Registered Manager, London HQ

Michele has been with Health Professionals for over 4 years managing the London recruitment team, while coordinating homecare services in and around the capital.

Her clinical heritage includes many years working as a specialist nurse in London NHS and private hospitals; within the community, as a district nurse, and as a lead manager creating and maintaining an award-winning assisted living facility.

Significantly, last year, Michele helped Health Professionals to achieve an outstanding 18 commendations out of a possible 18 CSCI Standards - or in simple terms, 100% compliance. We're privileged to have her on our team.

Michele says: “Working in the Healthcare Industry always has been, and always will be challenging. We can’t change the wind but we can adjust the sails. Patients today need the same care as they always did, but as specialist nurses we’re constantly required to dispense our care with reduced resources and less time. At Health Professionals we keep pace with the ever-changing employment laws and legislation and how it affects our industry, so that our clients and candidates can focus on providing excellent patient care.”

Michele manages the recruitment and support teams in London.

Hugo Lyons, Registered Nurse (RN) - Managing Director

Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1992, Hugo worked at University College Hospital in Central London before setting up Health Professionals in 1996 in response to the recruitment crisis then gripping the National Health Service (NHS).

It was while working at an inner city unit, that Hugo noticed an over reliance on agency nurses and realised the value of recruiting from countries like America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia as a way of finding permanent specialist nurses for the NHS. Subsequently, Health Professionals accompanied certain NHS hospitals on a global mission to successfully recruit experienced staff for London NHS single-specialty hospitals such as MoorfieldsEyeHospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital (Cardiothoracic.)

Hugo also holds a Law degree and today, oversees overall operations and manages the company’s IT infrastructure and website portals. Hugo says: “We simply strive to bring the highest skilled people to our world-class clients. Today, in healthcare, the sheer variety and uniqueness of the opportunities available makes our mission incredibly interesting and worthwhile – for us, our clients and our candidates.”

Staff supplied and types of settings
The business of Health Professionals can be summarised as short and long-term provision of registered nurses to specialist units, comercial companies and hospitals in the UK and provision of  homecare. The service is provided for individuals in the nursing profession (referred to as candidates) and institutions in the business of employing nurses in the UK (referred to as clients) and we also supply care at home.
